Tips For Spring Cleaning Your Car…

Spring is officially here and many of us will do some spring cleaning of our home and our car. Here are some tips to help cleaning your car a little easier:

1.   Use a flat-head screwdriver and a rag to clean the nooks in your car’s upholstery.  Wrap the rag around the end of the screwdriver, but be gentle. It can rip the vinyl, even with the rag on it.

2. To clean your vents, use a small foam paintbrush and a can of compressed air.  Use the brush first then use the air to blow them out.

3.  Use dryer sheets to clean your grill instead of a rag.  It’s easier to get all the dead bugs off and won’t scuff the paint.

4.  Use Woolite to clean leather seats.  Use one part Woolite, 10 parts water and wipe them down or use a toothbrush.  For cloth seats, you can use carpet cleaner.

5.  Clean your headlights using toothpaste with baking soda in it.  It may not make them look brand new, but it’s better than just soap and water.

6.  Clean your windshield wipers, and use rubbing alcohol to keep them clean.  Most people replace them before they need replacing.  Just wipe them down with hot, soapy water.  Then use rubbing alcohol on them to keep them from streaking.

7.  Soda is good for cleaning corrosion off your car battery.  Unscrew the terminals and pour some soda on them. Then scrub off the corrosion with a wire brush and rinse with warm water.
