Mark Zuckerberg Completes U.S. Tour in Lawrence

Today, The University of Kansas and the city of Lawrence played host to Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.

Although his visit was short, it did have a lot of meaning. His discussion was done in an interview like format on The University of Kansas’ Campus earlier this morning (11/10/17). He spoke about the many things he has learned by visiting all of the states over the past year. For those of you who may not know, Zuckerberg chooses a challenge for himself each year around New Years. In the past, he’s read books every couple of weeks and tried to learn Mandarin, but this year he focused his challenge on community. He wanted to visit all of the states in the U.S. that he hadn’t made it to yet.

During his travels he’s met with students, truckers and people from all sorts of backgrounds in order to understand what community really means to us. In the Facebook Live stream that was held while he spoke at The University of Kansas this morning he spoke about that and how he changed Facebook’s mission, for the first time since they began, to include community.
