What is there to be said about this grainy footage of the Bay City Rollers performing their hit “Saturday Night” at a Jewish Home for the Elderly that isn’t made abundantly clear by the faces of these women?
The Bay City Rollers’ performance, along with what appears to be a colorfully dressed clown impersonating Anne Margaret is just as energetic and animated as I assume their audience was back when they could still remember where they were and why. You know, the Triassic period.
I want to shake the hand of the comedic genius who chose to give us this glimpse into, what I assume are the darkest, cobweb filled corners of Anne Margaret’s psyche.
You’ve got to admit, though, despite one angrily clapping (or possibly crapping) man that may, or may not be the real Daddy Warbucks, the crowd is clearly riveted. You can tell by the ear horns… and the furious knitting.
